I’m so excited to write about this dress and this photoshoot. My husband is always on the search for fabric bargains, so when he video-called me to see if I was interested in a green tablecloth he found at a garage sale one day I was slightly skeptical. I would’ve never imagined it’d turn into this beautiful work of art.
I guess it was meant to be because when the Orchid Midi Dress pattern by Chalk and Notch came out, it was love at first sight. I fell for the wrap front and the puckered sleeves. I ended up winning this AND the interchangeable sister pattern the Parasol Jumpsuit by Ensemble Patterns BOTH for free during the same week on Instagram.
I hope you fall in love with this dress as much as I did. Details and modifications below!
I made no modifications to this pattern as it has a good amount of ease. However for the future I think I will definitely lower the arm depth. The armholes stopped straight at my armpit and for me that isn’t comfortable as I like a looser fit in the arms.
Brown loafers from DSW, earrings from Charlotte Russe.
Wow! I can’t believe you made that! Gorgeous!
