Greetings friends! I don’t know about you but I haven’t really been up for a photo shoot for any of the new things I’ve sewn lately. Going outside seems so lonely at times, the roads are empty and any business/shopping center is now a ghost town. Nevertheless I think I’ll come out of the funk soon as I just have too many goodies to share with you all.
Speaking of goodies, here’s a great one I’ve been excited to share with you! Meghann Halfmoon the pattern designer behind Halfmoon Atelier released the sew-along for the Roma Midi Skirt, one of my favorite skirt patterns! I had the wonderful privilege of creating the sew-along for this lovely pattern which is ON HER BLOG now. If you don’t have the pattern, no worries! She’s offering 20% off now through April 23rd using code SEWROMA so you can grab, print and start sewing this pattern and use the sew-along to help you!
If you’re looking for some inspiration I thought I’d share the one I made for the tutorial here as I never got a chance to do a blog post on it previously. This was my second Roma Skirt (you can see the first one HERE). This version below is made from a rayon/linen blend from LA Finch Fabrics. The fabric is wonderful and doesn’t wrinkle as much due to the rayon. This color is olive which I believe they are sold out of but they have it in black HERE. The top paired with this skirt is a Kalle Shirt made from linen fabric from A Thrifty Notion.
I definitely hope this gives you some inspiration to check out the pattern and sew your own using my tutorial linked above! It’s a really simple and easy make and has a great fit. It’s also versatile for casual or dressier occasions.
Stay safe and stay home!
