Calvin Wrap Dress in Diamond Viscose

True Bias provided the Calvin Wrap dress pattern and payment for this collaboration. This blog post is of my own initiative and opinions. The thoughts and feelings included are my own. This blog post was not a part of the collaboration.

Hello friends, so happy to share this make and all of it’s wonder. I had the pleasure of making this Calvin Wrap Dress as a photo collaboration with True Bias and I’ve been lounging around in it every opportunity I have it’s SO comfortable and it was an easy sew as well.

When I first started this dress I got a lot of feedback on the pattern and some complained about all the bias tape involved, but for me personally it wasn’t that bad. I actually enjoy sewing bias tape though so I’m sure that helps lol.

Sizing, Mods and Fabric

I made a size 10 graded to a 12 at the waist and hips per some suggestions on sizing. The fit is PERFECT! I also added a snap to the bodice which is perfect for holding it up. After some research on hashtags and questions asked, I definitely agree with opinions that you can size up on this pattern. There’s a lot of room for sizing up without losing the dimension of the dress here. I will say for next time I’ll be making the ties a little shorter as they were a bit long.

This geometric viscose fabric is from PDX Sewing Studio but I believe is sold out as I couldn’t find it to link. I paired my Calvin Wrap Dress with a Nikko Top made in this fabric from DH Fabrics & Co for a perfect fall transitional look, but shared a few photos below of how it looks without the Nikko. I got my notions and strap hardware from Tailor Made Shoppe.
