Hello friends! I am so pleased to bring you this post on two of my new favorite things (one being of my own creation which might be a little narcissistic of me but indulge me lol).
This year I am moving towards a more sustainable way of life, even more so than the past few years I’ve started going in that direction. One of my goals in that journey has been to find sewing patterns that help get rid of scraps. Additionally my loc journey and the pandemic have caused me to have multiple days where my hair spends time under a hat or a scarf and as a woman of color, preserving the natural oils and health of my textured hair is so important. If you follow me on social media you already know that The Mahogany Turban is a pattern I created to fill both of these needs and has been a hit! I’ve spoken about my pattern in various posts on my profile so definitely check out those and the pattern HERE if you’d like to check out this wonderful and perfect hair accessory!
The second incredible thing I’ve found wonder in is the Marlo Sweater by True Bias. A wonderful grandpa style sweater with style and class, this slouchy but structured wardrobe staple is a new favorite in my closet. I made this one out of a camel colored cable knit fabric and buttons from Pigeon Wishes.
My Mahogany Turban and Marlo Sweater are joined by a pair of skinny Dawn Jeans in cotton stretch denim from The Fabric Store and a Nikko Top made with cotton jersey from The Fabric Store.
As usual, thanks so much for reading!
