My name is Alexis and I am a blogger, sewist and designer. I was taught to sew by my aunt when I was 9 years old and loved the thought of being a fashion designer at a young age. After some on and off with the skill I began to make sewing a main hobby in my early 20s to accommodate my closet after finding out many things in the store did not fit me right. As a person of color with a pear shaped body I discovered the only way to get clothes that would truly fit me “perfect” was to create them myself, and thus this space was born to share all of those makes.
Over the past two years I’ve discovered the wonder of natural fibers and how they connect us with our roots and origins. By focusing on sustainability and zero waste methods, I’m slowly creating a wardrobe that benefits me, my health, and the earth. I’m so glad I’m able to share this journey with you and if you’re interested in sustainability, slow sewing, slow fashion and intentional lifestyle then I’m thrilled to be able to share my ups and downs as I work towards these goals as well along with my handmade wardrobe. While I may not be able to change the world with my efforts, I definitely can share with you how I am trying to change my own and then maybe we can be on this journey together. Either way, thank you for being here.
